Need (“we”, “us”, “our”) is operated by Flowtasks. This policy explains how we handle information when you use the Need mobile apps and website at need.flowtasks.io.

Information we collect

• Account data: email address, display name, country, city, and profile details you provide.
• Needs and activity: Need Cards you post, responses, messages, circles, and completion feedback.
• Location: general area or exact location only when you choose to share it for a need or in chat.
• Device permissions: notifications, camera, and photo library when you grant them for in-app features.
• Purchases: records of your one-time app unlock purchase (product ID and platform receipt metadata).
• Safety data: reports, blocks, and moderation actions you submit.

How we use information

• Authenticate you and operate your account.
• Route needs to the audiences you select (circles, verified helpers, providers).
• Send notifications about responses, messages, and account activity.
• Process in-app purchases and restore unlock status across devices.
• Keep the community safe through reporting, blocking, and abuse prevention.
• Improve reliability and fix bugs.

How we store and share data

Data is stored in Supabase (hosted infrastructure with encryption in transit and at rest). We do not sell your personal information. We share data only:

• With other users according to the privacy level you set on each need.
• With service providers that help us run the app (hosting, email delivery, app stores).
• When required by law or to protect safety.

Your choices

• Choose privacy levels per need — from trusted circles to broader local visibility.
• Block users and report content from within the app.
• Export your data or delete your account from Settings. See how to delete your account and data.
• Revoke device permissions in your phone’s system settings.

Retention

We keep account and activity data while your account is active. When you delete your account, we remove or anonymize personal data within a reasonable period, except where retention is required for legal, safety, or fraud-prevention purposes.

Children

Need is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
